Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Travel Time: 3.5–4 hours (approx. 180 km)

Experience:

  • Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport or hotel in Kampala
  • Transfer by road to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
  • Afternoon guided rhino tracking on foot.
  • Optional bird watching and nature walk in the sanctuary.
  • Walk up close to Uganda’s only wild rhinos in a safe, natural setting.
  • Accommodation: near the sanctuary (options Budget Midrange or Luxury

Day 2: Ziwa → Murchison Falls National Park

Travel Time: 3 hours (approx. 160 km)

Experience:

  • 7:00am transfer to Murchison Falls NP.
  • Visit the top of Murchison Falls – feel the force of the Nile.
  • Game drive en route to your lodge.
  • Stand at the edge of the world’s most powerful waterfall.
  • Possible sightings of giraffes, buffaloes, and elephants.

Day 3: Murchison Falls – Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari

(About 2 hours journey by road, 115 km road distance )

Experience:

  • Morning game drive on the northern bank (best chance to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and antelope).
  • Afternoon boat cruise on the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls.
  • Exceptional wildlife viewing in Uganda’s largest park.
  • Hippos, crocodiles, and water birds on the Nile.

Day 4: Murchison → Kibale Forest National Park

Travel Time: 4.5 hours (approx. 252 km via Hoima and Fort Portal)

  • Enjoy lush landscapes, tea plantations, and rural Ugandan culture.

Day 5: Kibale – Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

  • Evening game drive en route to the lodge.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth (Ishasha) → Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Travel Time: 3–4 hours (approx. 134 km via Ishasha)

  • Morning game drive in the Ishasha sector – famous for tree-climbing lions.
  • Proceed to Bwindi Forest.
  • Visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience
  • Rare chance to see lions lounging in fig trees.
  • Transition from savanna to mountain rainforest landscapes.

Day 8: Bwindi – Gorilla Trekking → Return to Entebbe or Kigali
  • Early morning gorilla trekking in Bwindi.
  • After trekking, begin journey back to Entebbe (10+ hours) or opt for drop-off in Kigali, Rwanda (4-5 hours). Optional: Domestic flight from Kisoro/Kihihi to Entebbe. (1hour)
